During the Safari Club International Convention held in Reno, January 2004, John Banovich and SCI hosted a special reception and presentation, Khunta Mi - Conserving the Amur (siberian tiger) which was an informative and educational conservation presentation alerting us to the threats facing the Siberain Tigers, the human aspect and the role hunters can play in the important next steps to ensure long-term survival. Joining John was guest speaker, Dr. Dale Miquelle, Russia Program Director for the Wildlife Conservation Society, Dr. Maurice Hornocker, WCS founder of the Siberian Tiger Project and Senior Conservation Scientist, Ron Maddox, SCI Chairman Conservation Committee along with a large delegation of Russian wildlife experts and natural resource managers |
