Western Visions is the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s largest and longest running fundraiser, with a variety of exciting events. Best known for painting bold and dramatic scenes of iconic wildlife and nature in its most essential form, Banovich has achieved extraordinary popularity among art collectors and sportsmen across the globe. Equally as important as his paintings, Banovich’s sketches provide a glimpse into the foundation of his work and the process of an artist who knows his subject intimately from years of firsthand study and research. Safari Club International Annual Convention

The Banovich exhibition at the 2014 Safari Club International Convention in Las Vegas showcased one of the largest collection of Banovich originals many newly released limited edition canvases. We hosted the annual "For Sale by Draw" as well as special receptions with hors d'oeuvres, wine and special events, including a showing of two very special cheetah cubs from the Columbus Zoo, artist deomonstrations by John Banovich, Stefan Savides and Mick Doellinger, and live entertainment from Cirque Zuma Zuma. The lion painting "King" was created to celebrate 20 years of the Banovich & SCI partnership as well as raise much needed dollars for lion conservation, through the donation of the original and sales of the limited edition giclee canvas. The Time Limited Edition "King" Canvas raised almost $13,000 for lion conservation.

For nearly three decades, the annual Dallas Safari Club convention has set the standard for sporting enthusiasts from around the world. The 2014 DSC Convention was the most successful yet with over 45,000 outdoors-men and women estimated to have been in attendance at the Dallas Convention Center. John Banovich is a longtime donor and supporter of the Dallas Safari Club, and is a “Partner in Conservation” with DSC. Together they have supported the idea of sport hunting in “Tiger Friendly Certified” areas. The 2014 DSC donation from Banovich titled "Debt Collector" provides a personal look into the beast that Robert Ruark claimed “looks at you like you owe him money.” The “Debt Collector” is at your doorstep!

Nature of the Beast Exhibition

The “Nature of the Beast” exhibition, comprised solely of Banovich works, was displayed in 2010 at both the Wildlife Experience Museum and Museum of the Southwest, providing the public with a rare opportunity to view a selection of Banovich paintings from mostly private collections assembled together for the first time. Capturing the spirit of wildlife, the collection introduced viewers to unique habitats and offered a glimpse into the secrets of creatures from around the world, resurrecting moments from nature that inspire thought and foster respect for wild places.
