Winning participants and their educators have been sponsored on learning tours to the United States capitol, the Smithsonian Institute and other venues.

Entrepreneur and philanthropist Kenneth E. Behring founded and supports the BGEF to identify, create and oversee multiple initiatives with a common goal of improving the health, education and overall well-being of people in the United States and around the world.
"The Behring Global Education Foundation is curating some of the finest animal exhibits from around the globe and these magnificent collections become important, relevant, current portals to the natural world. Experiencing these exhibits can be an awe-inspiring moment and similar to fine art collections, they can move, reveal and inspire us to seek a deeper understanding of the world around us."
